The Keluarga Malaysia Squad was launched by Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob on 8 October 2021. It is being spearheaded by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) which falls under the purview of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM).

The squad is a collaboration between various ministries, agencies, the private sector as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs), which will coordinate to deliver aid to people in need across the country using different mechanisms, under one system.

To date, the squad consists of 10,000 members who are at the ready to extend a helping hand to people affected by the pandemic.

The government is encouraging more ministries, agencies as well as Keluarga Malaysia volunteers to register to help.
